Well Being Coaching
By John Lingley
Well being coaching helps people to develop and optimise their attitudes, behaviours and habits, with the aim of restoring wholeness through complete well being involving Physical energy, Mental clarity and Emotional calm.
To assist you in achieving well being, this coaching model teaches the 12 Core Dynamics of Common Problems. These are:
-
Ignoring your intuition
-
Being judgemental
-
Avoiding the present
-
Limiting self expression
-
Resisting change
-
Mistaking need for love
-
Excluding other perspectives
-
Manufacturing interpretations
-
Over-reacting to circumstances.
These Core Dynamics are based on conditioning that is present from an early childhood. Our childhood conditioning can have a negative effect on our decision making and behaviours which can restrict us into a life of limited self expression and reduced enjoyment.
Problems occur in life due to inner conflicts. These inner conflicts are present when two types of thoughts conflict with one another, a Natural Intention and a Conditioned Response.
- A Natural Intention is an expression of our essential nature, our intuitive sense.
- A Conditioned Response is a learned behaviour that tends to occur through habits, reactions and emotions.
For example: Your Natural Intention might be: I would like to start my own business. A Conditioned Response would be: If it fails what will people think of me? A large number of new businesses fail, why should mine succeed? Will people think I am good enough? Will people think they are getting value for money?
In many cases the inner conflicts will persist and we will discontinue to not fulfil our Natural Intention which can lead to frustration and de-motivation.
Well being coaching aims to help people to move forward with their lives and remove the inner conflicts present, by resolving the 12 Core Dynamics of Common Problems (habits, decisions, reactions). When a natural intention is activated (eg: career change etc) other waves of energy are also created (eg: it won’t be successful) causing an inner conflict which has a destructive effect on the natural intention, causing it not to come alive and our desire doesn’t happen.
An example of how well being coaching could help someone move forward in their live might be: A person who had a difficult upbringing and as a result suffered from depression and low self esteem, who also wanted to change their career could be helped to live in the present instead of the past. This should help them to put their difficult upbringing behind them. Also by helping them to not be judgemental about themselves it could help to raise their self esteem and lift their self confidence. Finally being coached through resisting change, may help them to gain the confidence to make the career change.
Well being coaching has proved to be effective through helping people with: addictions, depression, anxiety, obsessive thinking, neediness, fear of change, worry, insecurity, a fear of things that don’t exist, and being absorbed in the past or future.
